MyGlam Bag: April 2012

It's an even better party in a cuter bag this month! MyGlam time. (: What did I get this month?
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Junkie: travel size - "Create your unique eye look with these creamy glide on pencils in the latest colors. Built to last 24/7." I have yet to use this, but of course swatched it the minute my grubby little hands got a hold of it. The name has certainly got it right, because it glides on super smooth & gentle as if it was liquid liner in pencil form. Store link: here
Sorry, it's a little blurry. The baby glitters are so distracting for my camera.
  • All-Belle Eyelashes: full size, one pair - "Accentuate your eyes for any occasion with these gorgeous faux lashes." Not much else I can tell you about these considering they're from another country & I'm never worn fake lashes before... :p (*fellow beauty guru's gasp*) Experiment time!
  • DermStore Lip Quench Moisture Infused Lip Treatment: full size, retails for $12  - "Using a blend of nourishing oils this treatment softens and smooths lips." 2 words: Already. Obsessed. Icing on the cake? It smells like strawberries. Pretty, pearly pink color in the tube, but applies like a sheer gloss.
  • MyGlam All-Over Eyeshadow Brush & Eyeliner Brush - "Handpicked by Michelle, enjoy two additional signature pink brushes to add to your exclusive MyGlam collection." The more I get the more I like... Remember last month when the smell of the bag was mentioned by multiple people? Well, it's definitely not the brushes. Which is good! These ones are super soft & seem durable. PINK!
It's been a hit Glammies! I will be continuing my subscription.

Collective Haul: March 2012

Thanks for watching! XO Katie <3 (:

March Favorites: 2012

Hello lovelies! (: Happy Easter!!! I hope your day has been as relaxing as mine. Think it's time for March Favorties? You're most likely thinking "It's about time...:" Let's just get it all out now & say I'm a little bit slow (more like late) at everything in life. :p Lucky for you, late's better than never! But, let's quit the small talk & get onto the good stuff, A.K.A. the favorites.

  • 3Lab Perfect Cleansing Foam (As seen in the March MyGlam Bag.) - If you can afford this stuff, I say go for it. I have yet to use a facial cleanser that cleans as well as this. Have you ever had someone tell you something is clean when it makes a squeaky sound? WIth this product, your face will squeak. In a good way.
  • Up & Up's (Target's generic brand) Blemish & Blackhead Facial Scrub - Comparable to St. Ives Blemish & Blackhead Apricot Scrub... I like this better. I find the St. Ives one to be pretty harsh to the skin, while the Up & Up one is a more watery formula, making it more gentle. It's cheaper too!
  • Skintimate Skin Therapy Moisurizing Shave Gel (Lotionized) - Basically, it's lotion, used for shaving, which creates magic. Thick enough to protect agains nicks & cuts while moisturizing, thin enough to still allow your razor to do it's job.
  • E.L.F. Lash Extending Mascara - I only use this on my bottom lashes, but it dosen't clump, dries soft & is flake free, plus the brush is small & simple enough to keep the mascara away from the skin under your eyes.
  • E.L.F. blush in Candid Coral - Pretty color, pigmented, perfect for spring. 'Nuff said.
  • Love & Beauty Pretty Wild blush in Rose from Forever 21 - Ok, this comes packaged in black & leopard print. Does the blush even matter?! Just kidding... the color's great too. :) Super pigmented with enough product to get you through any "rosy cheek phase."
Rose, Candid Coral
  • Peach Bellini candle from Bath & Body Works - Just smell it. That's all it takes.
Does this list get smaller & smaller every month? Maybe it's just me.

Nail of the Day ft. Kiss/Broadway Nails!

Slight obsession? Yes. To get this look, I had to do a teeny bit of altering, but I got to experiment so it's all good. (: What's on my nails?
  • imPRESS Press-On Manicure by Broadway Nails in Rock It - I did file these down to a slight square shape.
  • I painted over those ^^^ (Why? I didn't like the original design.) with Hot Ticket nail polish in Don't Pink & Drive by The Balm - 3 coats
  • accent nail (ring finger) is the Nail Dress by Kiss Nails in Sexy
Thanks for reading! XO Katie <3

Disclaimer: I purchased the Hot Ticket nail polish & imPRESS nails with my own money, but the Nail Dress Fashion Strips were kindly send to me from Influenster for reviewing purposes.

MyGlam Bag: March 2012

Party in a bag. Party in a bag! Get it? Got it? Good. First things first... Am I supposed to refer to this as the MyGlam Bag or is it also correct to refer to it as my Glam Bag. Why are the words "my" & glam" even squished together in the first place? Here I am, contemplating deep questions. Not. Anywhoo... I certainly hope you know what today's post is about after all that unnecessary shtuff. I feel no need to further explain myself and my slightly psychotic thoughts. Now, what was in the dang bag?
  • DermStore Care Package: Pur-lisse Pur-Protect SPF 30 Essential Daily Moisturizer (Meow!) -retails for $55, Murad Eye Lift Perfector -retails for $35, & DermStore $25 gift card - P.S. It's not really a gift card. They just think they're cool. You can only use the $25 if you spend $50. All sample size, one time use only.
  • 3Lab Perfect Cleansing Foam - Full size product (3.4oz), retails for $40.
  • Keracolor Color Enhancing Leave-In Treatment - "This leave-in treatment is especially designed to enhance, protect, strengthen & hydrate all hair types." Sample size, 2 uses depending on hair, retails for $40. I cannot find a way to purchase this on the website, but I did find it here on sale & through MyGlam, here.
  • MyGlam exclusive Classic Crease Brush & Case - It's pink! "Hand-selected by Michelle (founder of MyGlam) from her recent trip to Hong Kong for Cosmoprof Asia, freshen up your spring makeup routine with this MyGlam exclusive classic crease brush & brush case."
  • Coupons: 20% off for select products at DermStore & $10 off any Keracolor Color Enhancing Leave-In Treatment
Purpose of this bag? "After sloshing our way through rain & snow all winter long, we're all feeling a little extra dry & depleted. Months of dry air outside, blasting heat inside, & hot showers all contribute to that cracked & brittle feeling. Say goodbye to winter's woes with our March Glam Bag! It's filled to the brim with our favorite products to help repair & restore your skin & hair just in time for a bright & dewy spring." First initial thoughts? Not super excited, especially after realizing the actual price of these products. Yikes!!! While the final value of the bag was more than the $10 you paid for it, I would never be able to afford to re-buy any of the skin products. Why sample it anyway? If I love it, I couldn't buy it again, which equals a trap for major letdown. ): I do really like the brush & matching case, but something about this month's bag reeks & I can't figure out if it's the actual cosmetic bag or the faux leather brush case. Don't you just love the smell of a burned Barbie?! (*sarcasm*) Was it really hand picked? Overall, I think maybe we could skip the bags the stuff comes packaged in & get slightly bigger samples of things we could truly afford. I will be continuing my subscription with MyGlam, but am not pleased with what this month's bag had to offer. Sad face.

Thanks for reading! XO Katie (:

Product Review: Kiss Nail Dress

For the fabulous fad of nail polish stickers, I just need to rave about the Kiss Nail Dress Fashion Strips. Familiar with the Sally Hansen Salon Effects? Same idea. However, I feel like these are better. Really. These babies retail for $6.99 with 28 strips in 14 sizes for tips & toes, claiming to last up to 10 days. Already different than the Salon Effects, because they're toe friendly & might I say that it looks wayyyy cute! (; Gettin' fancy, eh?! In all reality, I can't use these on my finger nails for reasons mentioned in my last nail product review, but they did fight with all they had as best they could. Reading reviews from others, these were said to have lasted longer than the 10 days advertised. Such troopers! These are a much thicker "consistency" which I believe is the secret. These do have less pattern options available than Sally Hansen, but hey, they're new. Give 'em some time & I'm sure design availability will increase. Overall, I say thumbs up, especially for your little tosies!

Product Review: Gillette Venus & Olay Razor

Do you hate shaving as much as I do? Dang... While I think most girls have the same answer to that question, (Yes, we have to do it.) Gillette Venus & Olay are on a good path in a new direction. "Gillette Venus & Olay are coming together to deliver a gold standard in shaving with the new Gilette Venus & Olay razor! Olay Moisture Bars help lock-in moisture to your skin, while Venus' five blades shave you close." Sounds kinda genius, right? It almost is. Compared to the Gillette Venus Embrace, it's pretty much identical, except for the new concept of moisture bars. Compared to the Schick Intuition, it's a lot better. With 5 blades, no need for shaving cream, & built in lotion there's hardly a con. My only tip is to not leave it in the shower. The more water it meets with, the gooey-er it gets, causing a quick decrease in the amount of lotion & shave cream included. When you lose that, I don't really think you can use the razor itself anymore because there is no longer cushion which protects against skin irritation. Other than that, I now shave about every other day in around 5 minutes... as opposed to 15. Fabulous!

Product Review: imPRESS Press-On Manicure

4 words: imPRESS nails by Broadway. While the Broadway Nails company has been around for a while, the product I'm about to talk about is brand smackin' new. Yeah, I said that. imPRESS Press-On Manicure - Ok, maybe it sounds a little funky & takes you back to the days of princess dresses & plastic heels, but these really are revolutionary... like it says on the box. :p First off, you have to understand I have the hardest time actually keeping polish on my fingers. I'm a bagger/cashier at a grocery store so I'm constantly hitting my hands on things, getting 'em stuck between carts, lifting & moving things, basically, always abusing my hands. My nail polish has never lasted longer than a day at work. Literally. I am OCD about chipped nail polish, but I love having pretty nails. You want the solution? Ok, let's keep talking (or reading, perhaps). The imPRESS nails claim to last up to a week. Good deal for $7, considering a professional acrylic manicure is around $30 for 2 weeks. Fast & easy, 24 nails including 12 different nail sizes, no drying time, & immediate lasting shine. These do come with a rounded edge but are super easy & fast to file down to a square edge, like I chose to do. At first I was a bit skeptical of how sticky these actually were, considering the lasting time mentioned, but at first glance I noticed an almost "quilted" texture to the way the glue's already adhered. Let me just say, these stick. Good. So, these are perfect?! Almost. I originally purchased Rock It , which is a basic french tip, The nail colored, bottom portion of the nail looked so fake I couldn't stand it. Obviously these are fake nails, but we don't want it to look like we borrowed them from our 4-year-old sister. Long story short, I just painted over them (what you see above). So much cuter! (: I feel like the other patterned designs would be much, much better than the one I purchased. Naturally, I'll be trying more so I'll let you know. In the end, yes, I say these are worth a try. Recommended indeed.

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Oh yes you better believe I'm doing a Face of the Day post this fine holiday. (; It's actually days like these I get to pull out the brighter eyeshadows I wouldn't normally wear. What else do you think they're for?! Now, I do have to go to work, so I'm keepin' things subtle, but I'm lovin' this look... if I do say so myself. As far as Spring goes, (Will it just come already?!!) I think this sort of look will be fun as well... use any brighter shade for a pop of color instead of the mundane, just black eyeliner ritual.

Can you see the green? My camera is so bleck! :/

What am I wearing?
  • Covergirl Natureluxe Silk Foundation
  • Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Loose Powder
  • Physicians Formula Happy Booster blush in Natural
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze all over my lid
  • matte chocolate brown color in the outer corner of my lid & crease
  • Covergirl Eye Enhancers single eyeshadow in Champagne on my brow bone & inner corners of my eye
  • Wet N Wild Mega Liner in Black on my upper lashes only
  • lime green matte eyeshadow from E.L.F. on my lower lash line & outer portion of my upper lash line
  • Loreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes in Blackest Black on upper & lower lashes
  • NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo
  • E.L.F Minty Lip Gloss in Nashville

Day in the Life: Beauty Night!

Hello again lovelies. (: Today's blog is a little bit different from previous ones, but it's something I hope I can randomly continue throughout the year- "A Day in the Life..." (Blog sounds too boring.)

On Wednesday, I was lucky enough to get together with a group of girls in my church - Young Women's, & host a beauty/spa night! Focusing first on skin, I researched all natural, simple face masks we could make ourselves. Seriously, these worked great & are so much cheaper than anything you'd buy at a store! Who knew? Now we're talkin' clean, pretty faces! :p

Tell me if you want these recipes!

Obviously, relaxation & a little silly time came next...

Who dosen't want a little makeup?! One of my favorite things to do is share what brands of makeup I use & where I get them. I am such a deal girl & am obsessed with finding "cheap jems." I haven't had much practice with doing other people's makeup, but I have to admit I love the look on a girl's face when she loves how she looks! For me this was as much help & experience as it was fun!

Let's do it again?! (;
Thanks Erin for the great pictures!

Flavors included are Acai Berry, Blueberry Superfruit, Chamomile, Cinnamon Apple Chamomile, Lemon Ginger, Licorice Spice, Mango Passionfruit, Peppermint, & Wild Raspberry Hibiscus. I think these would be awesome iced with a bit of Truvia.

Experience a moment of timeless pleasure with all natural Ghiradelli Gourmet Milk Chocolate." Retails for $2.99. Spoon it in your coffee. It won't end up on your conscience or your thighs!" My Children Will Never Own A Barbie Doll.

I have watched the teachings of society break the spirits of girls around me. Dramatic? Oh well. I refuse to hold this back. Today, these feelings are common: Never perfect, never good enough, never pretty enough, smart enough, brave enough or skinny enough. We listen & we believe we'll simply never be enough, we'll never amount to anything great, and we’ll never succeed or be happy. Every single day we're faced with these lies & delusions we're expected to succumb to. When did things get this bad? Any magazine you read will tell you a size zero is normal, attractive, & healthy. These photo shopped images of women are placed on almost everything we see & we're told to replicate that & become that, as if we're being shaped & molded into robots. Anorexia & bulimia is a trend. Suicide is becoming a normality. We slowly begin to lose the line between reality & fiction until it's gone on for so long we fail to recognize a difference. In this day & age, the truth isn't being shared. Society is a bully. Society is pessimistic, fake, vulgar & defiant. Society is a liar & it has evolved within a fictitious world that shouldn't even dare to try & co-exist with the people in our lives. But most of all, society is ugly. As if it's a toxin, avoid it at all costs. Stop the comparisons. Find what's real, what you believe, what you love - research, examine, & study that truth. You are different for a reason. You were made this way because you're meant to be special, unique, & one of a kind. You are limited edition. Be the best you, you can be & don't let anybody bring you down or tell you differently. You are beautiful. You do deserve happiness & success in life. You do matter & you are loved. Find what makes you happy & chase after that dream with every fiber of your being. You are on this Earth today, with a purpose & you don't have to be bony & blonde to belong. Stay strong lovely. <3 XO Katie

February Favorites

It's that time of the month again... & by that time of the month I mean a new list of favorites! (; (Funny, right?) I don't have too many to share this time around, but they're worth your knowledge of...
  1. Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion from The Body Shop - My oh my do I love this stuff! Made for blemished skin, this lotion is mattifying, but comes in a gel form. This stuff goes on smoothly & feels so light, it's magic basically. Now this does have a strong scent of Tea Tree, but dosen't last once applied.
  2. Tea Tree Oil from The Body Shop - I do know you can get Tea Tree Oil from health food stores & other places similar, but I just can never tell whether or not it's straight Tea Tree Oil that's good for my skin. I just got this because I saw it while I was shopping, but I do now love it. I use this as a spot treatment at night & simply put some on a cotton ball & dab. This is a bit drying, which is good for zits, bad for skin, but lotion in the morning will do the perfect trick. I highly reccomend this as a natural way to get rid of pimples.
  3. The scrubber that comes with the Loreal Go 360 Clean Facial Cleanser - Can you buy something similar to this seperatly? My skin has literally been freaking out pretty bad this month. I've gotten pimples & dealt with dry, flakiness. (I know that's not a word.) In simple terms, I needed exfoliation but an actual exfoliator seemed to irritate what skin I had that was healthy! This little blue scrubber did the trick, although I didn't use the wash. I just had the bottle sitting around and thought "Why not?" Bottom line: scrubbers are a new favorite, even for everyday use.
  4. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe - I love this as a base. I simply put this all over my lids & add virtually any color I want over. Good alone as well!
  5. Garnier Fructis' Sleek & Shine Flat Iron Perfection Straightening Mist with Argan Oil - Ok seriously, could that name get any longer?! Good thing it's a fabulous product! I've never been a fan of straightening my hair, but this month I've loved it, mostly because it takes less time than curling my hair. :p This is a heat protectant, plus it helps straighten your hair, reduce frizz & keep it straight till you wash again. What more could you ask for? This stuff smells so good, I'll also spray a bit more on the ends before I go out!
  6. Dove Refresh+Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo - Love this stuff! Really! (LOL) You shake it up, spray it on your hair, work through with your fingertips &/or palms then brush through. Product will appear slightly gray at first, but once worked in you won't be able to tell you used it. Only downside? The smell is really strong, though it dosen't last. But whatever you do, don't breathe in while applying! You don't need to wash your nose hairs anyway (:

Yeah, I love this song.

Nail of the Day - Blazed

Hey pretty people. (: I am so ready for Spring! Aren't you? Utah bound, we still have a bit of snow, but my nails are obviously rebelling. I love this coral-y orange color, "Blazed," by Wet N Wild! I do have to say it took about three coats to build up to the coverage seen, but it's a truly pleasent consistency to deal with, though not very opaque. I would indeed consider this a creme polish, as lovely as it is, especially for only $1! Thanks for reading XX Katie  {KONY 2012}

Haul: E.L.F. Cosmetics

Hello again lovelies. (: Today's post is all about my recent online shopping trip with E.L.F. Cosmetics. I went a teensy bit crazy, but it's E.L.F. so why can't I?

What did I buy?
  • Stipple Brush from their Studio line - While I'm a fanatic about flat top foundation brushes, I've never actually owned a "stippling" brush. This isn't exactly what I thought it was going to be because it's a lot thinner then the brush I use now, but I'll let you know how I like it. The package says it has 2 layers of bristles designed to pick up multiple layers of product. Use with any face product wet or dry for a "flawless, airbrused look." I personally will be using this for my liquid foundation.
  • All Over Color Stick in Spotlight - I plan on using this as a cream highlight. P.S. It smells like pink Starbursts!
  • Minty Lip Gloss in Nashville - Light brown, nude color with hardly any color pay off, but I do love the minty flavor. (:
  • Lotion Wipes in Vanilla & Coconut - I was pretty skeptical about these at first but the reviews were killer so obviously I decided to try them. These are literally, exactly what they state & they work pretty well for the concept & price. Once applied they're super wet, like a normal wipe, but continue to rub hands together like you would with normal lotion & it immediatly starts to feel like the lotion we're used to using... but it came from a wipe. Did that make sense? :p
  • Blush in Twinkle Pink - Dupe for Nars' Super Orgasm blush. (Some say a dupe for Deep Throat, but this has sparkles.)
  • Blush in Candid Coral - Dupe for Mac's Springsheen

From left to right: Twinkle Pink, Candid Coral
  • Single Eyshadow in Sand Dollar
  • Single Eyeshadow in Oatmeal
  • Single Eyeshadow in Coffee Bean
  • Single Eyeshadow in Rasberry Truffle
  • Single Eyeshadow in Saddle
  • Single Eyeshadow in Sea Blue - Funny story on this one... On the website, this actually looked like a periwinkle color, but in person it's electric blue. Literally. My camera dosen't even do the neon shade justice. (Note: All other shades look like they appear online.)
From left to right: Sea Blue, Saddle, Rasberry Truffle, Coffee Bean, Oatmeal & Sand Dollar

Face Of The Day: 2/28/2012

Hey beautiful. Here I am again hoping to make this a new "series" at Rosie Girl. I personally love seeing Face Of The Day posts... basically the same as Outfit of the Day's, but your makeup. What's on your face. Was that obvious? I want to keep this as short & sweet as possible, so let's get on with this. :)
  • Foundation: Covergirl NatureLuxe in Albaster, #305
  • Powder: Physician's Formula Mineral Powder (I've used it so much, the name of the color's rubbed off!)
  • Aerie Cheerful Cheeks Happy Apothecary blush in Pretty In Plum
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo Tough As Taupe, #35 - all over my lid
Where I used these colors mentioned below:
  • Loreal Studio Secrets eyshadow quad in Lavender Smokes, #536 - mauve-y rose pink all over my lid
  • Loreal Studio Secrets eyeshadow quad in Lavender Smokes, #536 - dark purple in the outer half of my crease, lightly blended down to my lash line
  • NYX Roll On Shimmer in Almond, #11 - blended into my crease
  • Loreal Studio Secrets eyeshadow quad in Lavender Smokes, #536 - light gold color on my brow bone & inner corner
  • Wet n Wild Mega Liner  in black, # 861 - upper lash line
  • lengthening mascara (I've used mine so many times the name has completely faded off the tube, but it comes in a pretty gold package.)

Tag: 7 Deadly Sins Of Beauty!

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
I actually own mostly inexpensive beauty products... a lot of E.L.F. cosmetics, so I'm gonna go ahead & choose my E.L.F. eyelid primer which sells for $1. My most expensive beauty product would have to be my Remington Wet to Dry hair straightner, which I absolutely adore! This baby retails for a whole $35! :p Big spender here!! I know.
2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?
Exfoliators! Oh my gosh, I am so, so bad with these! Anyone good with skin will tell you to exfoliate about 2-3 times a week. For some reason I just don't. I forget, it's not a priority, it's more work. Wow do I sound lazy right now... However, I love, love, love the way my skin feels after! So, I don't really know why I neglect this particular item. (: Product that's been the hardest to get? Anything Dermalogica. Seriously, I love this stuff but I hate ridiculous shipping & handling prices & the actual store I can get it from is like the opposite direction of my daily schedule. Dermalogica does have amazing products though... & my all time favorite exfoliator, so while I'm thinking out loud I'm realizing I need to just take the extra time & go ahead & kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Yeah buddy. Look at me gettin' stuff done.
3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?
Ok, I don't actually eat my beauty products, (I hope you don't either.) so I'm going to take this as a "What's your most deliciously scented beauty product?" & in that case it's definitly my NYX lip gloss in Perfect. Literally smells like cherries. Reminds me of Shirley Temple's & that's delicious. Scrumdidilyumptious in fact.
4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
I never thought I'd say this, but it's nail polish. It's soooo nail polish right now. For some odd reason nail polish will just not stick to my nails. Nail polish will not actually stay on my nails for more than a day. Adhere gosh dangit! I am not going to paint my nails every single night. That seems ridiculous to me. Plus, wouldn't that be really bad for your nails?
5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
For this one I don't think there's one beauty product in particular that I can name, but I can say my foundation routine is what gives me the most self confidence. I'm sure you can guess why... I have suffered with acne since as long ago as I can remember. While I have my skin pretty much under control right now, I guess really good coverup has just become a beauty routine for me. Beauty must indeed!
6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
What does this have to do with beauty?! I don't know, but I like talking about cute guys, so I'll go with it. I am most attracted to mature, funny, stable, outgoing guys with blue eyes. I am positive that every guy I've ever had a crush on has met 4 of those 5 standards. Yes, it's obvious that I have a "type." & when I say stable I mean stable as in a future with a promising career. My life certaintly needs stability.
7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
Perfumes! Goodness gracious I love getting anything perfume related! Anybody who knows me knows I have an obsession with smells & the way people smell. As weird as that sounds... I like to say I purchase quite a bit on my own, but I feel like it's something you could never have too much of because of the variety between scents & stores. Right now I have around 8 bottles of Victoria's Secret body mists. Boom.

MyGlam Bag: February 2012

Hey ladies! (: Today's post is all about my February Glam Bag! You've heard it before but I'm gonna say it again - You need to get this thing! Just do it. Wait till you see/read what's in here...

  • X Out Shine Control moisturizer from the makers of Proactive - "Stay flawless & shine free with this oil-free moisturizer with a mattifying complex." I haven't been able to find a retail price for this product alone since it comes free with an order of the X Out face wash, but you get a full size tube in your Glam Bag.
  • NYX Roll On Shimmer - Also full size, retails for $4.50. Includes 30% off coupon. "NYX's brand new, intensely rich, shimmering powder that can be applied to the eyes, face, & body." Mine came in the color Almond... It's gorgeous!!! Surprisingly enough the product comes out of a medium sized roller ball dry & pigmented with tiny flecks of shimmer. Product sheens out well with a tint of color once blended, but blending's definitly optional. I chose to wear this on my lids today with a hint of matte brown in my crease.

  • Premier Dead Sea Cinderella Mask (package reads Instant Stretching  & Revitalizing Mask) & Eye Cream - "Luxury skincare rich in life-enhancing minerals from the Dead Sea waters." Alone, full size these retail from $94.99-$99.99, but I was provided with 2 seperate samples with more than enough product to see if I like it. 50% off coupon included.
  • Freeman Facial Mask Sachet in Goji Berry - "Turn your date night prep-time into a soothing spa experience with easy-to-use skin-perfecting masks." I've seen these at Ulta, Walmart, & Target for around $1. These are sold as single use packets, but do not come as a sample size. Goji Berry is used to help restore healthy skin tone & improves moisture retention, soothes & hydrates creating supple, soft skin.
  • Ghirardelli chocolate - YUM! There's a sweet surprise for you! I recieved 1 dark chocolate square & 1 milk chocolate square.
  • NuMe Professional Styling Tools & Hair Extensions $100 giftcard - K, can I just say WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW?!! This is incredible! I paid $10 for this Glam Bag, $10!!! This is like I got $100+ free! I am so beyond excited to use this sucker. :D
Thanks MyGlam!!! Thanks for reading beauties! XO Katie

19 Random Facts Tag!

Hey pretty ladies! (: Anyone up for a game? I was tagged by Tess to do the "19 Random Facts Tag" & now I tag all of you! I genuinly love getting to know people, whether it's people I already know, people I've known for a long time, or complete strangers. People are unique & let's be honest... I'm kinda nosy ;) so really I like to know, or perhaps figure out the things no one else knows about you, the things that aren't obvious at first. (In a completely non creepy way of course.) Although I could probably go on for a while, let's start with just 19 random facts about me. We can't get too out of hand now.

  1. I love end of the world/disaster/apocalypse movies! Seriously, I've loved these for as long as I can remember. When I was younger I used to watch Dante's Peak at least once a day for months. Some of my favorites are War Of The Worlds (the remake with Tom Cruise), The Day After Tomorrow,  & The Day The Earth Stood Still.
  2. I'm terrified of lightning! Or maybe I'm terrified of getting hit by lightning. Either way, I just cannot be outside during a storm. Talk about anxiety issues...
  3. I adore giant rings! The bigger the better! I've started quite the collection now a days, including an assortment of animal attire. Something about 'em makes me feel safe... like if I ever need to protect myself & you know, punch someone really hard, I'm covered. :p
  4. I don't vomit. I just don't. I hate it so much, like more than school, more than injury, more than heartbreak, more than anything you can think of, I hate vomit more. I can't decide if it's better for someone to tell me when their stomach hurts or if it's better not to know. Just the thought of it makes me angry & I've sorta trained my body to simply not do it because I will do anything to avoid it, whether it's me or someone else.
  5. At some point in my life I want to live in Maine. I can't really explain the obsession, it's just there. Something about the small town atmosphere & the ocean mixed. The states back East are my favorites. Shoutout!!!
  6. I'm a crazy mac & cheese fan! If I could eat anything for the rest of my life, for every meal, of every day, it'd be mac & cheese. Really.
  7. I did clog dancing for 6 years! If you know what that is, great. If not, think of a mixture of almost every dance, but with the focus on tap & Irish. I started when I was 8 because my mom wanted me to, but from the very first class I was hooked. I met my first real crush at dance class. (:
  8. Disneyland is my favorite place on Earth!!!!! For every birthday, special occasion, future honeymoon, maybe a possible place to live... I always say Disneyland! I used to dance there every year, but have picture proof of going as early as infant status. If you have a problem with The Magic Kingdom, I have a problem with you. Let's be honest here.
  9. I have a dark taste in music. I like to say I believe in fairy tales, happy ever after, Prince Charming, but I guess not in music form. I don't think I have happy music on my iPod, as odd as that sounds. As a person, I believe I'm an extreme realist & the bubbly pop tunes just don't work for me. Right now I'm really into Adele's latest album, Kelly Clarkson's My December & songs like Fix Me by Coldplay.
  10. Tess Christine is my favorite Youtube beauty guru! (Another shoutout?) Love you girl! Don't get the wrong idea about me, I do like guys. But, her videos are the best, she posts quite often, she's gorgeous, beautiful inside & out, & she seems like such a genuinely sweet girl. I have to say she does inspire me as far as Rosie Girl goes. Go subscribe!!
  11. I've always wanted to be a nanny! I love kids & have been babysitting frequently since I was 11. I've had the chance to watch a couple babies grow up & just love the way you become part of the family. <3
  12. Justin Timberlake was my first celebrity crush! Has anyone else noticed his outbreak in acting lately?! I just saw Friends With Benefits & pretty much loved it. He's still a stud. I remember one of my friends growing up had pictures of Nsync completely covering the back of her bedroom door.
  13. I love canoeing! The first time I actually got into a canoe was a couple years ago. It was a "stepping out of my comfort zone" sort of experience but I'm so glad I did!

  1. I am awful at math! Absolutely horrific! It took me like 4 years to learn my mulitplication tables...
  2. I'm a night owl! I hate sleeping... at night. I rarely get 8 hours, but then have to fight to stay awake during downtime parts of the day. I'm the kind of person where if I take a nap, it turns into 3+ hours & I wake up feeling all congested & shtuff.
  3. I hate vegetables! Really all I eat is corn & potatoes, potatoes mostly in chip form, which is awful. Something about the taste makes me gag. I can't even eat them with pasta or rice!
  4. I love bargain shopping. I could shop for hours & hours, but never really buy anything because I hardly do unless I get a deal! I love when you go to those fancy stores like American Eagle & find something for 10 bucks.
  5. I've only ever had crushes on guys with blue or green eyes! I didn't even notice this till like a year ago, but I have always liked boys who have eyes that aren't brown, because mine are brown. Don't get me wrong, brown eyes are nice, (My mom calls them chocolate eyes.) I just like people who are different from me.
  6. I love creative writing! Which is one of the reasons why I blog more than I make videos. I feel like I can be quite the persuasive little girl with a very outspoken voice. I love what it feels like to create a new personality or character for yourself, or to live vicariously through someone completely different from yourself.

Tips & Tricks: Let's Talk Conditioner

Oh heyyyyyy. (: What's up girls? I hope you're all fabulous. Tonight, I want to talk about your hair... specifically you're conditioner. What do you use? Don't tell me something expensive, because I don't want to hear it, you don't gotta use it. I have a hair secret to share. You ready? Ready now?! (Ok, ok, this isn't Dora... I'm not gonna hear your answer.) What conditioner you use dosen't really matter!!! When I take a shower my routine is to generally shampoo, condition (leave it in), body wash, shave, then I wash out my conditioner & continue with the rest. So, yes, I'm leaving my conditioner in my hair for at least 5 minutes before I rinse it out. That's all there is to it. Genius! Use whatever you want, whatever's cheapest, whatever smells the best, whatever brand you <3, just do what you want, be a rebel. I've tried just about everything, including way super expensive Wen & it all works the same. There's some bang for your buck! You're welcome. XO Katie

You're Sexy & You Know It.

If this was Youtube, the title would look something like this: "Blog: LIFE." This isn't Youtube. Question of the day: If I normally blog about beauty & such, but then I spontaneously decide to post something different along the lines of what normal people blog about, which of course shall be classified elsewhere, what do I call it? Obviously I can't title a blog, "Blog." Hellooooo! (; That made absolutely no sense, but whatevs... What's up pretties?! Work, boys, friends, I'm just all sorts of distracted. Go ahead & say "excuses, excuses." I already know. (Still sense sarcasm in my writing?) I feel like the entire world has a cold right now, including me, so that's fun. Work is good & I get lots of it. Boys are... boys. I'm almost positive you proactively finished that sentence for me. Valentine's Day was fabulous, right? Right?! I really have nothing else to say to you but THANK YOU. So, now I'm gonna switch topics. I recieved a lovely, super duper, freaking exciting email from Influenster stating I've been chosen to get a VoxBox. YAY! Rosie Girl recieving 600+ views got me the spot, so of course I have to say THANK YOU again. THANK YOU. Basically, I'm gonna get some free goodies & review them here for ya'll, since you know I have such a hard time talking about beauty products. I don't know guys... this sounds like it's gonna be real difficult. :p You better look forward to that as well as MyGlam Bag reviews. Things are gettin' fancy!!! XO Katie

Product Review: Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam

You know those moments when you really just want something good to happen... and then it dosen't? Maybelline's brand smackin' new Dream Nude Airfoam foundation was that moment for me. I find it funny that they chose to throw the word "air" in the product title, considering it is basically air in a can, coverage wise (meaning their is no coverage). This not so fantastic foam makeup comes in a tin like can with a "push down nozzle" 1.6oz in size - larger than most foundations, I thought I was getting a deal. Product dispenses exactly like hair mousse, down to the tea of the wet consistency & uncontrollable amount actually dispensed. As far as I can tell, all the colors available have a rather noticable yellowish/orange base, which isn't flattering for all skin types, if any. Other girls of the beauty community have described it to be like a tinted moisturizer, but it dosen't moisturize. So, since it dosen't cover, no matter the amount, it dosen't moisturize, nozzle top pretty much guarantees you're gonna get too much product & the very real fact that it kinda portrays a Snookie spray tan... This one's a no go. A no go, don't go, don't think about it, don't go back, don't even try it, not worth your money, learn from my mistakes kind of oh no, no, no. Don't do it. Trust me. :) Thanks for reading! -Katie

January Favorites

Hey pretties. (: January's favorites will be posted here, obviously, as opposed to Youtube, just because I am still trying to figure all that out, but I still wanted to update for you. Tweet me or comment below & let me know if you like the videos or the blogs better... & lets jump right in!
  • Covergirl Natureluxe silk foundation
I've been nothing but impressed with the smell, the lightweight yet buildable full coverage, & the consistency. It's yet to break out my skin, even if left on overnight. (I know, I know... It's bad to do.) Seems to be long wear as well.
  • Mark. Cosmetics Calm Yourself Hydrating Mask
This mask has been a true find for me, especially when it's marked at a drugstore price. It does exactly what it's called! Thick, lightweight gel consistency in an aquamarine color goes on clear with a slighty numbing feeling to your skin, which sounds weird, but if your skin is irritated it feels extraordinarily calming. Lemon & orange with green tea describes the smell to a tea. (Ha ha, very funny, right?)
  • Sheer Cover Duo Concealer (as seen in January's MyGlam bag)
Creamy, full coverage with a lightweight feel. Not much else to say... Only downfall? It is a duo, meaning 2 different colors, also meaning I very rarely use the medium shade included.
  • Crest 3D White Vivid toothpaste in Radiant Mint
Favorite. Toothpaste. Ever. You can see a difference in just one use... even if I do sound like an infomercial.
  • Crest Pro-Health Multi-Protection mouthwash in Clear Mint
Does anybody else wonder if the died mouthwashes secretly stain their teeth like soda does?! This is new & I like it!
  • Secret Natual Mineral deoderant in Lemongrass Mint
Think of Vick's VaporRub. Amazingly enough, this deoderant dosen't have much of smell at all, but a slight undertone similar to Vick's, which I really do like. My mom thinks I'm crazy, meaning she dosen't smell it, but whatever. (; This stuff just does it's job extremely well without clashing with your perfume.
  • Vitamin Water in Power-C Dragonfruit
Delicious. No more to say.

Thanks for reading! (: -Katie

Updated Foundation Routine

Ok, so I know what you might be thinking - "Is she really about to do yet another foundation routine?" Answer? Um, yeah, I am. (: Obvi. Don't judge, but this topic is important to me. You've heard me say it before & I'll say it again... I have extremely, ridiculously, overly sensitive, acne prone skin, & yes, I do it hate it, a lot. We all have something that never fails to drive us to the brink of insanity, but because I know the pain oh so well, I'm not about to let anybody else suffer either. C'mon guys, I'm a lover, not a fighter. As if you didn't already know. If you're really interested, great! (I knew you were cool.) Let's get this party started.
------------------
Freakin' wash your face! Just do it, trust me. Nobody likes whiteheads, pimples, zits, whatever you want to call something pesky that does not belong on your face. I know it's some other lame chore you're not getting paid to do, but in the long run you really are doing something fantastical. Never, ever, ever put makeup over more makeup. Current favorite foundation? Covergirl Natureluxe silk foundation. Taylor Swift promotes it, The Beauty Department recommended it, there's really nothing else to say. It does its job & it does it well. Plus, it smells divine. (Yeah, I said that.) Over top of that, I'll add concealer under my eyes because I really don't think "veiny" is a good fashion statement. I've been using Sheer Cover's Duo Concealer, so thanks MyGlam. Next, you're gonna want powder to set your liquid foundation, especially if your face is oil city like mine. I cannot recommend Physician’s Formula's Talc-Free Mineral Powder enough. Get 'er done, ladies. Oh and because I seem to like to put as much on my face as possible, (I hope you're sensing sarcasm...) I always use some sort of rosy pink blush & bronzer to contour. Last, I highlight my cheekbones & the bridge of my nose with E.L.F.'s highlighter. We can't look to matte now. You're beautiful! XO Katie

SOTW

So... For this week's song choice, I decided to choose Kelly Clarkson's "Behind These Hazel Eyes." Now I'm well aware this is nothing new, but it's been on repeat, & now you know the kind of week I've had. Kelly Clarkson (her older stuff) is hands down my angry music. "My December" is one of my all time favorite albums, but I find it strangely empowering, in a "I just might hurt you" kind of way, if that makes any sense at all. Moral of this rant? "Behind These Hazel Eyes" feeds my current fed up spirit, but helps soothe with an "I'm gonna be ok" undertone. Nuff said.

MyGlam Bag: January 2012

Hi pretties! (: Katie here to do a quick post about my favorite thing ever to appear in my mailbox - MyGlam Bag! The theme this month is "Back To Nature," as mentioned on the cute canvas tote bordered with lime green leaves. At first glance, it seems like you get less products, as opposed to last month, but the value is well over $40... which is uh-maaaazzzzz-ing considering I only paid $10. BOO-YAH! So, what the heck is inside this thing?!

  • Full size Sheer Cover Duo Concealer in Light/Medium

  • Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner

  • Full size Freeman Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask

  • theBalm Cosmetics Hot Ticket nail polish in "Don't Pink and Drive"

  • And who dosen't love coupons? They added those too. I've already had the chance to try the Sheer Cover concealer, in the exact color I needed by the way, and I have to say I'm pretty excited about the creamy, lightweight, long lasting coverage it does have. I have wanted to try Wen products for longer than I can even remember, so obviously that's a stamp in my book. Once again MyGlam, I am a very happy Glammie girl. :p

    Song of the Week!

Oh look! Song of the Week is back! (: Heck yes ma'm. I have to say this week's decision took a while to stumble upon, but I decided on a new band "Of Monsters & Men." Here's "Love Love Love." Obsession!

    December Favorites - Take 2

    Tutorial: Braided Headband

I'm sure by now you've come to notice that I adore headbands... So, why not make one with my own hair?! :p
Step 1: Take about a 1 inch section from either side of your head. (I chose the right because it's easier for me to braid from that side, given I'm right handed.)
Step 2: Braid the section you chose, upwards. If you braid the hair going up, you won't get any bumps when you pull it across your head.
Step 3: Braid as much as you can then bobby pin on the opposite side.
    Simple as that!

    December Favorites/Christmas Season Haul!

Ok, I really hate this lovely, oh so attractive thumbnail Youtube decided to choose. :/ But, what can I do, right? I'm so new at this all... Regardless, I hope you don't mind this messy mind update. :p
